Dilmunia Mall Development Company has announced that tenants at its BD52-million ($137 million) crescent-shaped retail destination, Mall of Dilmunia, located in the Muharraq region of Bahrain, have started carrying out fit-out work on their stores.
The project, which has a built-up area of 125,000 sq m, aims to redefine the shopping and entertainment experience in Bahrain, thus creating a unique and leisurely atmosphere for all members of the family to enjoy.
With the development being in its final stages, Dilmunia Mall has received great interest from investors and retailers across the region, stated the developer.
The retail development will be coming up on a total area of 26,754 sq m and a gross leasable area of 47,300 sq m including a spacious underground carpark.
In line with its efforts to encourage families to spend quality time together, the mall will feature recreational facilities including an indoor zipline, two football fields and a state-of-the-art indoor ice skating rink within a safe space that meets international quality and safety standards, it added.
In addition, Dilmunia Mall Development Company recently announced its collaboration with Bahrain-based entertain-ment company Funscape World, to provide four different entertainment zones, further elevating the standard of leisure offerings in the kingdom.
“Tenants have commenced fit-outs of their stores at Mall of Dilmunia which aims to provide a distinctive leisure experi-ence for the entire family to enjoy,” remarked Shaikh Khalid bin Mohamed Al Khalifa, Chairman of Mall of Dilmunia.
“We are working round-the-clock to ensure that the mall is completed to the highest international standards in order to provide both our tenants and visitors with the optimal experience,” he stated.
“We have also received immense interest from international brands and retailers and are carefully selecting leading brands to be a part of the Mall of Dilmunia. We strive to develop a quality-driven entertainment, leisure and retail destination in Bahrain, creating an enjoyable experience,” he added.
CEO Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa said: “Mall of Dilmunia will become a unique destination, combining various leisure facilities to offer a unique shopping experience.”
It will include an array of exclusive international brands opening their doors for the first time in the kingdom including Tamimi Markets, which is among the fastest growing supermarkets in Saudi Arabia.
The three-storey facility will provide quality services of entertainment, leisure and retail as well as an Al Fresco dining experience overlooking the canal, for tenants and guests visiting to indulge in an immersive experience as a family. The mall features a 17-m-tall cylindrical aquarium, a first-of-its-kind in Bahrain. It will also boast the largest atrium in the country that can be utilised as an event venue with the largest LED screen ceiling in the GCC, with dimensions of 60 m in length and 10 m in width.
Mall of Dilmunia is expected to transform Bahrain’s shopping experience due to its unique interior and vibrant atmos-phere, said the developer.
It will also provide visitors with the opportunity to enjoy an abundance of luxurious amenities, dining outlets and cafes amid breathtaking views of Muharraq Island, he added.
